Yesterday President Donald Trump told congressional Republicans:
“You gotta win the midterms ’cause, if we don’t win the midterms, it’s just gonna be – I mean, they’ll find a reason to impeach me”
They don’t have to look very hard, I can immediately think of several reasons to impeach. There are probably other but these come to mind.
- The murder of over 100 civilians on suspicion of carrying illegal drugs (probably a war crime and certainly a violation of due process), including 2 killed while clinging to the wreckage of their boat (a war crime)
- The invasion of Venezuela with its constantly shifting rationales and failure to consult Congress
- President Trump has made millions, if not billions, of dollars for he and his family, possibly in violation to the Emoluments clause of the Constitution
