Jay Clayton, Donald Trump’s nominee for the next director of national intelligence (DNI) appeared before the Senate on a few days ago, Jon Ossoff of Georgia asked Who won the 2020 election?
Clayton answered “I’m not gonna engage in the theater”. Probably not the responsibility of a DNI but still, something you would think anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence should know. Especially someone interviewing for this job.
Susan Collins, a Republican senator from Maine, seems to have concluded that Clayton performed rather well. I think it just made him look like an idiot afraid of the loser of that election.
But if Susan Collins thinks that answer was fine, I do question whether she should be re-elected to the Senate
